Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and maintain network tools and monitoring platforms including administration, operations, documentation, and upgrades. Provide training to network teams on operation and use of tools and monitoring platforms.
  • Assist network teams and business customers with operations and performance testing.
  • Partner with IT teams to establish process and procedures for integration, configuration, inventory tracking, and capacity management.
  • Assist Network and Security Services troubleshooting and data analysis.
  • Solid understanding of quality-of-service (QoS); ability to develop and recommend changes to global policies to manage network performance. Understand considerations for supporting voice and video across global network.
  • Work with business customers and project teams on network requirements for new and evolving applications. Recommend changes to global QoS policies to maintain network performance while accommodating application deployments and changes.
  • Manages network performance by conducting capacity planning, network modeling, traffic analysis, forecasting, and provisioning; answering technical inquiries; advising on upgrade and expansion strategies; provide data and reports.
  • Experience with Netflow and Cisco NBAR.
  • Competent in Enterprise campus routing/switching, WAN routing in a multi-provider environment, Multicast, and application load balancing.

Preferred Experience:

  • Network tools such as Solarwinds, Spectrum, LiveAction (Netflow tool), and Cisco Prime.

  • 5+ years experience supporting WANs, complex routed/switched LAN environments using Cisco Enterprise Class routers and switches
  • TCP/IP, IEEE 802.3/.5/.11, VLAN and MPLS fundamentals

  • Cisco WAAS Environment

Specific Certifications:

 

  • Highly desired – Both CCNA and CCDA.
  • Preferred – CCNP, CCDP, CCVP
